Pasta Alla Vodka

Pasta Alla Vodka

Ingredients

  • Penne/fusilli pasta, uncooked - 2 bowl-fulls
  • Olive oil
  • Chorizo (sliced)/sausage - 225 g
  • Onions (diced) - 1
  • Garlic (minced) - 4 cloves
  • Chilli oil/chilli pepper flakes - to taste
  • Chopped tomatoes - 400 g
  • Salt - 0.75 tsp
  • Double cream - 0.5 cups
  • Vodka - 2 tbsp
  • Chopped parsley - 0.25 cups

Steps

  1. Fry the onions in olive oil in a frying pan on medium heat until lightly browned.
  2. Add the sliced chorizo/unsliced sausage and fry on medium-high heat until the chorizo/sausage is cooked through. If using sausage, once it is cooked through, remove it from the frying pan, slice it, and put it back in.
  3. Add garlic and chilli oil/chilli pepper flakes.
  4. Once the garlic is lightly browned, add the tomatoes and salt. Bring to a boil before reducing heat and simmering for 15 minutes.
  5. Start boiling a pot of water, add salt, and cook the pasta.
  6. After the tomato sauce has been simmered for 15 minutes, add cream and vodka, and bring it to boil, before reducing the heat to low and adding the cooked pasta. Toss the pasta with the sauce and serve with parsley.
